The Deputy Prime Minister, speaking at the dispatch box in the House of Commons (ex cathedra, so to speak), declared the Iraq adventure an "illegal war". Now he must use his powers to bring the lawbreakers to justice. Any other course would surely be a dereliction of duty, and could leave him open to a charge of some or other offence - withholding evidence? Obstructing the police? Being an accessory after the fact?
