Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that not all Americans are foaming-at-the-mouth, gun-toting, flag-wagging nutters who think that bombing and occupying third world countries is the way to conduct business on the international stage.

Here is the thing. Clearly, the paleo activists attacked the Israeli commandos upon boarding. The "activists" were clearly seeking a confrontation -- and PR points. Its obvious that was their strategy from the get go. Thus, all this jabber jabber about israeli commandos intentionally shooting at people asleep in their beds is just total BS.
Im reading a new book, "War" by Sebastian Junger. He is the author of The Perfect Storm. The book relates his experiences embedded with US troops in Afghanistan. He notes that while it is impossible for him to be totally objective, as he came to know and befriend these men and rely on them for protection on a daily basis, he can still be honest about what went on. And he says his comments have never been censored or reviewed by the US military/govt.
He points out frequent situations where the taliban used human shields, incluiding children, to prevent american soldiers from firing back at them duing attacks -- or obtain useful PR points in case the US troops did so and the innocents were hurt. Dont like it/believe me? Go buy the book and read it yourself.
The point is, these kind of tactics are used by insurgent types around the world when confronted with a superior force. The Isralis should have anticipated such and planned better for these blatantly manipulative tactics.
People know that well trained commandos dont fire blindly on peaceful people. Unless maybe you are suggesting that jews/israelis, as a race, are subhuman and inheretly barbaric and violent, Jemmy? Gosh, that would be quite racist of you.
And by the way, I do own guns, I do fly a flag on July 4th. But last time I checked in the mirror I wasnt foaming at the mouth. In fact seems to me every time I see rabid protestors in wild frenzies its in some mideast shithole where they burn our flag, exlaim "death to america" and other such tripe. Do tell the last time you saw americans going on such public rants. And btw, call me nutter all you like. Peanut butter is one of my favorite foods! hahahah
