I note the passing of the photographer Herman Leonard, creator of one of my favourite photographic images (above). There are many others.

My favorite is the one of Dexter Gordon..Maybe because I'm more familiar with it than with the others..Otherwise when it comes to atmosphere, black and white is the best..Brassai, Bresson, Weston.. A friend of mine is a photographer who would use nothing but a rather old bronica and produces black and white masterpieces of the Australian outback..
So many good ones - http://www.edelmangallery.com/leonardshow.htm D'accord, TG, black and white is best. I feel the same about films, but then I'm a relic of a bygone age.
"Grandad's swearing at the telly..." (Alan Klein, "What a Crazy World.")
Old, tired and somewhat disillusioned, but trying to keep up standards. Aware that capitalism cannot be reformed, but despairing of its dissolution in the near future, I use whatever means are available to me to avoid capitulation. I join forces with other resisters in the Industrial Workers of the World.
