People have complained in the past about the difficulty of terminating a facebook account. Now it's been made easy for British facebook users. Just criticise Cameron-Clegg cuts and you disappear.

I wasn't aware of such difficulty, never tried, but I know it's easy to deactivate which I did on many occasions. Also my experience with terminating accounts elsewhere is that it has always been tedious, always something wrong and you have to try again. My guess is that it's deliberate to dissuade people from leaving..

I don't do facebook but I remember reading a year or so ago that a lot of facebook users were frustrated by the difficulty faced in trying to close an account. I thought it tied in with this story - http://bankofamericasuck.com/04/29/50-political-facebook-pages-deleted-on-royalwedding-day
