"Walmart workers, as a group, are the largest food stamp recipients in the country totaling $2.66 billion annually. That’s right, Walmart, a company that makes more than $400,000,000,000 a year is taking more than $2,660,000,000 out of tax payers pockets annually because they have refused to pay their workers a living wage. Not only has Walmart callously expected the taxpayers to pick up the slack, but the government has allowed them to get away with it! In fact, reports say Walmart has direct knowledge of this and directly assist employees in applications for both food stamps and Medicaid. And that is not all. Walmart also takes millions, perhaps billions in tax breaks, free land and other government subsidies."

Aw gee Jemmy, another pro union screed? Do you ever tire of the same old nonsense?
I'm not a wal mart shopper, or lover. But their prices are good. It's why people shop there. Not because the staff is so incredibly knowledgeable and helpful...lol
No one is forced to work there. Don't like the pay? Go elsewhere. Oh yea, that's right, most of the workers are the marginally employable, and have no real alternative that's any better.
Colluding to bully wal mart through labor unions would have the "wonderful" effect of raising their prices, destroying growth and jobs, and sending the stock price down, no debt owned by millions of Americans in their mutual funds, 401k, pensions, etc.
Unions are bad, evil things that serve no ones interest except those of the thugs, bullies, criminals and liars that run them. Their time has come and gone. Your efforts are being deployed toward resurrecting a dying animal. Its death throes will be loud and likely violent, but the end is coming, probably within your lifetime. Sorry to be the bearer of such bad news for you.....not really..:)
Yes, I do tire of the same old nonsense -
"No one is forced to work there. Don't like the pay? Go elsewhere."
How many times have you peddled that line? And the one about union thugs; here we go again. The individual who celebrates the murder of innocent people on other continents disapproves of thuggery.
No mention, I notice, from the apostle of free market economy, of Walmart's dependence on, and milking of, the welfare system.
Gosh Jemmy, Walmart getting handouts? Dont you support free stuff from the govt????
Actually, what happens is local govts offer property tax abatements and other incentives to lure Walmart . They want the investment, the jobs, the development of often fallow and unproductive land that Walmart brings when it opens a new store. So iwalmart is just taking what others offer. I call it smart business, which also has a net positive effect upon the community, otherwise obviously they wouldn't concoct these deals.
Secondly, Walmart helps its employees supplement their wages with govt handouts? Youd rather them not assist their employees? Or you'd rather Walmart increase wages such that the average shopper could no longer afford to shop there? If the govt would lower taxes on business, business profits would increase, which would drive more economic activity, which would increase hiring, which would give workers more power in negotiating wages with employers - at Walmart and elsewhere. The free market solves such problems if allowed to do so.
I'd rather they paid their victims a living wage, dumbcluck.
You're at it again, peddling the product of your loony randroid brainwashing on my pages. This is your last deposit, pointless discussion closed.
