NEW TO ME (No.16)
Mazy - "Sone Aluko opened the scoring after a mazy, 10th-minute run into the box" (BBC Sport). I looked it up, the word exists. It means something like "confusing, perplexing", though I suspect that a slightly different meaning; Young Sone was trying to find a way through the maze of the defence.
Another word I've just picked up, slang this time - jam roll, 'a Pole'. This is rhyming slang, and, as its a straightforward rhyme on the accepted name, it strikes me as inoffensive. Other terms, e.g., ship's rigger, tiddly-wink, are rhymes on offensive terms, and can only be taken as offensive in themselves.
